The AUD5020 is a mono, Class D, filter-free audio power amplifier that can deliver 2.5 watts of continuous average power to a 4 ohm load, with less than 1% distortion from a 5V DC power supply.
The AUD5020 provides high-efficiency power amplifier switching with a minimal amount of external components. It requires no output coupling capacitor and filter, for instance. Because of its space-saving footprint, it perfectly meets the needs of mobile phones, PDAs, MP3 and portable media players, notebook computers and other low voltage applications which require power sources in a small package.
The AUD5020 has an energy-saving shutdown mode that is activated once the shutdown control pin is switched to the low setting.
The AUD5020 also features an internal thermal shutdown protection mechanism, and circuitry that eliminates pop-and-click noise whenever the device is turned on or off.
